The Campestral Mitts

The Campestral Mitts are now available after a year of exclusivity in Cast On Magazine. Read on for information about sizing, materials, and more.

A woman's small, plump hands are splayed slightly on a white countertop. They're wearing a pair of brown fingerless mitts with panels of coin lace and little bobbles down the back of the hands. Around them are some peach and cream roses and antique paper ephemera. A teacup full of tea sits to the left, slightly cropped out.

About the Campestral Mitts

campestral (adj.) – of or relating to fields or open country : rural.

I like to go for wanders on brisk mornings, but my hands always end up chilled. Tucking them into my sleeves is one option, but that’s not terribly comfortable. Fingerless mitts do the trick much better.

These mitts are graded to three sizes and feature a mix of coin lace and bobbles climbing up the back of each hand. The texture reminds me of dried grasses in autumn, the season when I start needing fingerless mitts again.

A pair of brown fingerless mitts with little bobbles on the back is laid out on an antique handkerchief trimmed with lace. In the background are some peach and cream roses.
