A Knitcrate Exclusive: The Daffodils in Sunshine Mitts

And now for something completely different! I rarely publish patterns that will forever be exclusive to somebody else’s platform, but I made an exception for the folks at Knitcrate. The Daffodils in Sunshine Mitts were published as part of their May Inspirations box, and you can learn all about them here. Plus, I have a special discount for you!

Read on for details, inspiration, links, and more.

Inspiration

When the team at KnitCrate and I were brainstorming for this design, we knew the color palette for this project would be springy and cheerful. I always think of flowers, but I especially think of flowers in springtime.

And several years ago, during a particularly special springtime, I saw my first clematis climbing up a trellis outside a little café along the Rhine River.

The cables on these mitts remind me of a trellis filled with clematis blooms.

These mitts are graded to four sizes and feature a mix of coin lace, cables, and bobbles climbing up the back of each hand. I knit them in the Daffodil colorway of this yarn base, and so I named them for that cheerful yellow.
